Minutes from the board meeting:
November 1st 2008

Board of Directors meeting was called to order at 2:15pm.
At Bob’s Your Uncle Restaurant with 9 people present: 
Brenda Nelson, Brenda O’Halloran, Sandy Langenberg, 
Patty Smith, Mari Howell-Verry, Mira Sahu, Louise Rhode, 
Alicia Weithers, and April Kirchhoff.

We welcome new and thanked old officers. Switching over 
materials Amanda Swenka to April Kirchoff 
and Brenda O’Halloran to Mari Howell-Verry.

April read the minutes from the September Board meeting. 
There was no additions or corrections. Brenda N. accepted 
the minutes as read and Louise 2nd it.

The treasures report was 1612.83 at the October General Membership meeting.

Since then 115.00 was deposited giving a new total 
of 1727.83. 2 membership dues (50.00) left to be deposited. 
Brenda N. accepted the treasure report as read and Mari 2nd it.
Brenda O. Thanked Sandy as treasure for doing a good job.

Internet update Mari wants to bring up at the General Membership 
meeting to the members to get ideas on these things on the website: 
Parent Page, Cute Quotes, and Activity Idea.  Louise will email to members.

Patty updated membership list for accurate numbers and addresses. 
Copys of the updated information will be given at the next GM meeting.

Louise had nothing new. Thanked the group for re-electing her.

Brenda N. had nothing new.

Brenda N. showed us a video of Alicia’s presentation on 
October 21st 2008 at the GM meeting.

Louise reminded us that at our October GM meeting we forgot 
to congratulate ourselves for 1 year of being a non-profit group. 

Patty wants to carpool to Newton for the Fun Event at Alicia on 
Flannel Boards.  Call April for carpool. She will drive if 
interested in riding in the carpool meet at Bob’s Your Uncle at 9 am.  
Louise will email members.
 
Unfinished Business:

Sandy still has coupon books.

Update The Lions Club for November 19th 2008 we will not attend due 
to not far enough along with the 501 ( c ) 3.

Fundraisers:

Good on the gift-wrapping. Dates for gift-wrapping are December 12th
and 23rd. Email April for times.

Barnes and Nobles NO

IFCCA - Brenda N. Thanked April for going. Brenda N. read the 
minutes from the IFCCA.

Brenda N. Just wanted to know if we wanted to keep the advertisement 
in the IFCCA brochure the same or change it. It was decided to keep 
it the same and just update the information.

Brenda N. will bring to the GM meeting to see who would all want to 
volunteer for the next IFCCA Conference on March 28th 2009 at the 
Quality Inn and Suites in Iowa City.

IFCCA application needed to be filled out. Brenda N. will be the 
Director and Alicia will be our alternate.

Brenda N. is checking on insurance for IAVQCC.

Louise talked about our up coming fun event in Newton. The cost to 
the members for the materials that will be provided. Louise will email 
out a list of cost to the members.

New Business:

We had no current correspondence or letters.

Brenda O. made a motion that we as a group allocate 25.00 for the set 
up fees for purchase of polo shirts with our group name on them. Shirts 
will be deep purple with yellow (embroidered). Anyone who wants to 
purchase one can pay 17.00 for any size. Louise 2nd the motion. 
It was accepted.

We worked on the 501 ( c ) 3.

At 5:48pm Louise called a motion to adjourn. Alicia 2nd it.
