It was held May 20, 2008at 6:55pm at the
West Branch Library.

There were 11 people present:
Allison Crawford, Mari Howell- Very, April Kirchhoff,
Sandy Langenberg, Brenda Nelson, Brenda O'Halloran,
Louise Rhode, Diana Riahi, Mira Sahu, Patty Smith,
Amanda Swenka

Officer Reports:

	*  The minutes from the April meeting were read by
        Amanda Swenka.  There was an addition April was voted
        in as a general membership representative.
	*  Treasures report was $1597.19. There was a sheet
        passed out of the Expenses and Income for 2007- 2009
	*  Patty talked about how it is your responsibility
        to check the minutes to make sure your name is on
        them if you were at that meeting.

Web site is not updated the computer is down.
	*  We talked about posting attendance on the web site
        so at the end of the year when it comes to voting for
        officers we will know who is eligible to vote or be
        voted in as an officer.
	*  A motion was made to post member attendance on the
        internet. Motion passed.
	*  We are having 2 work group meetings on June 14th
        and 21st at 9:30 am at the West Branch Library to work
        on our 501 (c) 3. If everything is finished on the14th
        there will not be a meeting on the 21st.

The unfinished business is:
	*  Louise: There was no update Sheryl Sueppel., Susan
        has been busy and out of the office.
	*  Upcoming conferences:

Applebaum - if we sign up as a group we can get a discounted
rate. The more people the larger discount. The form needs to
be sent in by May 27th. Schaumburg- in July if interested
contact Brenda O.

Springfield - in Illinois AEYC conference sept.25-27

Check website for updates and more info on conferences.
	*  There was discussion about ordering more Hy-Vee
        Coupon books, there was a motion made to allocate
        $100.00 to order more Coupon books.  Motion passed.
  	*  We also talked about the funds we received from
        the West Branch Lions Club. The donation will be
        used specifically for the 501(c) 3.  We also talked
        about the thank you note sent.
	*  The July potluck picnic it will be at Willow Creek
        Park. We also have the permit for the shelter

The new business for the May meeting is:
	*  At the board meeting we talked about forming a
        committee called the Community Sponsored Events
        Research Committee To research other rural area's
        to meet. Or other events we could co-sponsor. There
        was a motion made to make a “Community Sponsored
        Events Research Committee. Motion passed. The
        temporary committee chair person is Sandy other
        committee members Brenda N, Brenda O, and Louise.

We have talked about getting IaVQCC T-shirts. The place we
priced out to make them would cost a flat fee of $20.00 for
each screen made, and $14.95 per shirt we would also have
to order a dozen at a time, we will talk about this more
at the next meeting.

Allison mentioned the idea of making some baskets for the
4C's staff to show our appreciation for the things they do.
Members voted to have Louise be the officer liaison with
Allison collecting materials at the next meeting and creating
the baskets.
