Minutes Jan 15, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Louise Rhode

It was held Jan 15, 2008 at 6:37pm at the West Branch Library
300 N. Downey St.
West Branch, IA 52358

There were 12 people present:

Minutes:
The minutes from the November meeting were read by Louise
Rhode.  There were no additions or corrections, they were
approved as read

Treasurers Report:
The treasures report was $995.46 plus an additional $95.00
that has not been deposited.

Unfinished Business:
We still have some Hy-Vee coupon books.
We talked about the winter gathering which will be held
Saturday, January 19th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You may
bring a gift costing no more than $10.00.

There are some date set up to go over the handbook and
bylaws those dates and times are as follows:

	* January 19th -Iowa City Public Library for 
        10:30 - 2:00 on
	   January 19,2008 it is meeting room "D".
	* January 26th - 9:00am-5:00pm, at the Iowa City
        Public Library
	   meeting room C.
	* February 2nd 9:00am before the board meeting,
        location Sandy's house.
		o (February 2nd board meeting - 1:00-5:00
                @ West Branch Library)
		o February 9th- 1:00-? Location TBA
		o February 19, 2007- meeting will only be
                for ratifying the bylaws, the handbook and 
                conflict of interest.

We talked about the IFCCA conference on March 15, 2008. We
still need volunteers.  There was a motion made to have
Sandy as the officer in charge of organizing for Katie Bee
to do a concert, this motion was passed. Allison was asked
to give all information to Sandy.

New Business:
We need to watch how we are using E-mail. (We cannot make
group decisions over the internet.)

We talked about the 2008 first board meeting and coming up
with a community awareness brochure and design.

There was a motion to allocate at $.10 per copy $25.00 from
this point on to making certificates. This motion passed.

There was also a motion to allocate $100.00 from this point
on to make and mail the newsletters.

7:40 the meeting was tabled for our training presented by
Brenda Nelson on Infants and Music and Movement.

After the training we continued with new business:

The group voted to allocate $75.00 to bring Jan Temple
(from the ISU Extension office) to our next meeting for a
food program workshop. The vote was 7 Yes, 2 Abstain.
Co-Chair Louise Rhode will make these arrangements.

Sandy's April special event was moved to April 19th.
