Minutes from board meeting:

February 2, 2008

The Board of Directors meeting was called to order at
1:05 p.m. at Sandy Langenberg's house with 5 people present.
Brenda Nelson, Brenda O'Halloran, Louise Rhode,
Mari Howell-Verry, and Amanda Swenka.

The meeting was called to order by Brenda Nelson. Minutes
from the November board meeting were read by Amanda Swenka
and approved as read. The treasures report was $1174.46.
Brenda Nelson wrote out a check for $25.00 to Sandy for the
door prizes at the winter gathering. There is also $50.00 in
cash to be deposited from the Hy-Vee book sales. There are
12 books left.

A motion was made to bring up a motion at the next general
membership meeting to purchase more coupon books.

Unfinished Business:

IFCCA Conference-

The sign up sheet for the conference needs to be turned in
at the next IFCCA meeting to show where we can help.

At the conference IaVQCC gets ½ a table at no charge. We
decided we would put Brochures, a sheet with dates of
upcoming meetings, IaVQCC business cards, a candy basket,
IAVQCC pencils, yellow and purple flowers, news letters and
a photo album.

Mari was going to check the price for printing the brochures
to see if it would be cheaper to print color on white paper
or print black on purple or yellow paper.

IaVQCC also needs to provide a door prize for the conference
Brenda will be sending out an e-mail on this. We are looking
for new or like new items donations to make a basket. We
would like to have these items at the February meeting.

The April fun event is at Sandy Langenberg’s on April 5th
from 2-4 come dressed to play.

Meetings who and when:

March 18th, Jan Temple, 1.5 hours food program approved

April 15th , Kelly Matthews, thinking through complexities
of play ( a motion was made and passed to allicate $25.00 to
Kelly.)

May 3, Board meeting 1-5p.m. West Branch Library

May 20th, we need to confirm the presenter (possibly Salone)

June 17th, Karen Veerheusen-Langerud, Transition from
preschool to kindergarten

July 12th, fun event Potluck Picnic

July we will take a summer break.

Aug. 19th, will be a tour of homes are there any Volunteers?

Aug. 30th, Board meeting.

We split up into groups to work on the following forms:

Proposals from members about possible community sponsored
events

Grievances

Orientation for new members

Mari had designed a brochure for us.

There was also a motion made to allocate upon receipts to
refund for the printing of the brochures, dates of upcoming
meetings, and business cards used for the March conference.
Motion passed.
