The meeting was called to order by Louise Rhode.
It was held August 19,2008 at 6:40pm in the home of
Mari Howell-Verry’s.

There were 11 people present:
Allison Crawford, Mari Howell- Very, April Kirchoff,
Sandy Langenberg, Lyn Peterson, Brenda O'Halloran,
Louise Rhode, Diana Riahi, Mira Sahu, Patty Smith,
Amanda Swenka
Officer Reports:
* The minutes from the July meeting were read by
Amanda Swenka.
They were approved as read.
* Treasures report was $1387.83
$100.00 was donated to the 4C's
$50.00 for the previous meeting training.
The treasures report was approved as read.
* The Hy Vee coupon books were not available but
should be by the
next meeting.
* Patty passed around a sheet with everyone's
attendance. This showed who was eligible to be
nominated for an office
* The web site has been updated with the city
providers live in, check to make sure yours is correct.
Attendance will be added to the website along with
the newsletter
* Louise talked about our picnic and passed around
some Pictures taken during the fun activities. We
are hoping to do it again.
* We were also updated on the IFCCA meeting. It will
be held October 11th from 9:30 to 12:00 or 12:30.
* Information on upcoming meetings, and possible
topics. Board meeting September 6th at the Coralville
Library from 12-4 to hold a meeting at an Iowa City
school it would be $60.00/night and we would need to
provide them with a copy of insurance. Sloane will
be unable to be a guess speaker at the next meeting
if you have Art activity ideas and could get them to
Brenda O she could print hand outs. ( open ended projects)
* Education and Planning committee: we discussed
having trainings planned early so we can get them out
to the public to possibly attract more members. April
has a friend ( Dan Strong) who would be willing to train
us in our 1st aide and CPR for $5.00 We also talked
about contacting Andy Brown to see if he would be
willing to do the food program training.
The unfinished business was:
* The coupons for the 4C’s staff need to be turned
in by the board meeting on Sept. 6th.
* In the 4C’s newsletter their was a topic on the
new resource center. They are going to have some theme
packet classes to help providers learn how to use the
new equipment. there is a $5.00 Material fee. A few
of the new items include: a Die cut machine, Paper
cutter, laminator.
* Their was a motion made to as a group help the 4C's
by Volunteering our help with the resource center.
Motion passed
Meeting tabled at 8:00 for guess speaker Mari Howell-Verry
8:43 started on the new business for the August meeting:
* Members have been given until September 6th to hand
in their officer nominations.
* Sandy made a motion that we set up a booth and
spend approximately 2 hours face painting / rub on
tattoos at an event in West Branch. Motion tabled for
further discussion.
